Sweetshop & Green focuses on developing films and TV series which have something to say and change people’s perspective, while also increasing the cultural diversity of stories in their film making. Israel-born Gal, cultivates relationships he has formed with talented creatives in Israel and Europe through collaborations with Green Productions connecting them to global projects.

Joint Managing Director

Sharlene’s antennae is in production on a global level. Throughout the 18 years since the conception of Sweetshop, she has focused on delivering world-class production facilitated in multiple countries. Forging new markets and clients within these markets has become the core of Sweetshop’s business with eight offices in Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney, Bangkok, Shanghai, London, Los Angeles and New York. Having a director roster of 29 directors globally gives clients easy access to strong talent on a local level.

As a New Zealand born Cook Islander, telling more indigenous stories is an extremely important part of Sharlene’s focus.

Joint Managing Director

Gal has years of experience developing and producing films in Israel and worldwide. Under his management, Green Productions has produced nearly a dozen critically acclaimed films, among them Scaffolding, Menashe and Youth, which were screened and celebrated at prestigious film festivals such as Cannes, Berlin and Sundance, and were successfully distributed in Israel and internationally. The company specialises in international co-productions with countries including, France, Germany, Poland, Belgium, Brazil and Australia.

Gal is a big believer that art and commercial success can live together. "The hardest and most important part of our work is to find creative ways to bring quality content, content with a high cultural value, to a wide audience around the world." He also is a big believer in finding talent – writers, directors and actors - and giving them all the support he can in the development stage to make sure the story is strong and that they will come as ready as possible to the production. Gal also brings with him extensive experience in attaching strong co producers from other territories in the world to ensure his films gain the largest possible exposure.

At Sweetshop & Green, Gal focuses on finding and producing stories, scripts and talent in the global market, supported by the Green Productions team in Israel.
